DIY Pickleball Practice Wall

Watch the family polish their paddle skills on this sturdy foldaway target surface. Your net band should be roughly 850-900mm from the ground.

Tools & materials:
• Safety equipment (mask, gloves, and eye and ear protection)
• Drop sheet
• 120-grit abrasive paper with sanding block
• Tape measure and pencil
• Clamps
• Drill with 12mm, 14mm, 8G countersinking and driver bits
• Lint-free cloth
• Bolt cutters
• Roller with tray and small paintbrush
• Plates or other round objects, for templates
• Two 4.8m lengths of 90mm x 45mm H3 treated pine•
• Three 2.4m lengths of 70mm x 35mm H3 treated pine•
• Two M10 x 130mm galvanised hex head bolts and nuts
• 8G x 75mm galvanised countersunk timber screws
• 8G x 30mm galvanised countersunk timber screws
• 2440mm x 1220mm x 12mm marine plywood•
• Timber filler and scraper
• Two each of M6 x 75mm x 14mm and M6 x 100mm x 14mm galvanised eye bolts
• 2m x 4.8mm long link chain
• Four 4mm stainless steel quick links
• Self-priming exterior paint
• Leftover acrylic paint (we used Taubmans White and Dulux Strawberry Surprise and Tall Ships)
• Cargo net (bungee cord and hooks removed and reserved for another use)
• Staple gun with heavy-duty staples
• Painter’s tape
